Catalog Description:
Wastewater systems, sources of wastewater, hydraulics of wastewater flow, combined and separate sewers. Manning equation, flow in partially filled sewers, system layout, main sewers, manholes, house and building connections, sewer profiles, design criteria, population estimate, peak factors, construction and maintenance of sewer systems, Turkish Standards for sewerage system construction.

Course Objectives:
To teach the concept of waste water collection system design, including planning, data collection, application of data to maps; to prepare full scale project of a small town.

Pipe design is made for a specified town by using computer program (UN-SEWER). This is a term project to be completed in seven weeks.
