Catalog Description:
Deep foundations. Piles and pile foundations, types of piles,
pile foundation design. Types of sheet pile walls. Single-wall,
double-wall and cellular cofferdams. Box open and pneumatic caissons.
Underpinning of existing structures.
Course Objectives:
The course emphasize pile foundation design and teach the
state of the art concepts of behavior and design of single piles
and pile groups.
